Yorkshire Coast

The Yorkshire Coast offers dramatic coastline,
sandy beaches, fishing towns and villages

The coastal towns of Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough are all within easy reach.
Visit picturesque coves such as Thornwick Bay, North Landing and South Landing and the
lighthouse at Flamborough Head. Boat trips and sunset cruises take place from Bridlington and Scarborough.

A little further up the coast is the traditional maritime town of Whitby dominated by a 13th century Abbey
from where 199 steps lead down to cobbled streets and alleyways full of individual shops including handmade Whitby Jet jewellery,  Fortune's Smokehouse and  Botham's tea rooms.

Close by are the charming fishing villages of Staithes and Robin Hood's Bay.

Local Beaches

Bridlington Harbour

The fantastic sandy beaches of Bridlington are just a 20 minute drive from our cottages, close enough for a quiet evening stroll.

South Beach is located to the south side of the harbour. This extensive sandy beach overlooks Bridlington Bay, bordered to the north by the stunning Flamborough Headland, while to the south the golden sands extend to Spurn Point at the mouth of the River Humber.

North beach is a sand and shingle beach surrounded by wide promenades backed against the breath taking Flamborough Cliffs. You can enjoy a wide range of traditional seaside activities with the facilities of the town and harbour just a short walk away.

During the summer months the areas where you are able to take dogs on to the beaches are restricted but there are no restrictions at Fraisethorpe located in the middle of the long sandy Bridlington Bay.

Another option for dog walkers is the wonderful sandy beach at Hunmanby Gap between Bempton Cliffs and Filey.
